SWB-A MISSION STATEMENT

Mission:
The SWB-A educates students to function effectively in different cultural contexts, and to view their own culture from the perspective of others. The Program also works to ensure that global perspectives and issues are an integral part of the intellectual and cultural experience of all members of the program. 

SWB-A engages the heads, hearts and hands.

Mission Expanded:

The SWB-A educates students…

• Educates students while in the classroom, in the home, and on the field
• Educates students to use their heads, hearts and  hands to approach  issues
  • Heads: Eng 11/12, Span 11 intro/Span 11, (8 credits)
  • Hearts: Global Citizenship/Global Education (4 credits)
  • Hands: Leadership 11/12 (4 credits)
• Educates using BC Min of Ed courses through SD #22  (total 16-20 credits)

• Students realize the effect education should have on a society
• Students visualize the effect their SWB-A education might have on society
• Students actualize a leadership plan to bring said change about

• Students travel to diverse indigenous cultures
• Students are inserted into cross cultural experiences
